This Book of poetry is a collection of verses that paints a portrait of the experience of Mrs. Fields as a six year old child. He was hurting her and we wanted to hurt him too so we went to the room and did the only thing we thought we could do, "We beat them shoes". We Beat them shoes depicts the young daughters retailiating for the abuse of their mother by their father." This Book of poetry is written to help the reader begin to understand abuse and to urge them to be alert to children and the situation they may be in.
